| Customer Reviews: Good mask, but has flaws June 14, 2010 Jeremy (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for paintball. Used once for a full day.
Overall this is a good mask.
Pros:
No fogging problems.
Looks good.
Good feature/price ratio
Cons:
Marginally comfortable during extended wear(+1 hours without break)
Top of mask sticks up and gets hit when you peek your head out.(This may not matter because if the top
of the mask wasn't there, the paintball would hit the top of your head, but that spot accounted for most
of my "hits" for the day)
I'm not sure if there are better masks out there for this price, but it's better than rental masks.
Great but... February 11, 2010 loriloo (jacksonville NC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you wear glasses it may not fit well around them. My son has two pair or glasses and one pair will not fit at all.
Small, lightweight and good coverage February 25, 2008 endospores 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
It's a great little mask and a great value. You get a nice field of vision and the thermal lens really keep the fog to a minimum. To claims that it doesn't look as 'cool' as others, that's a matter of personal preference, i think it looks rather sharp because it's so compact.
It's not at all bulky or heavy, it fits snugly over my face (i have a big head and face - size 8 hat) and it's very comfortable to wear. Like any other mask, it will get a little itchy after sweating a lot, but that's just the way it is with all of them. Lots of holes offer great ventilation so don't worry about suffocating with the mask on while engaged in battle.
The camouflage pattern is classic and will fit with many forest and wooded area landscapes and match most similar hunting/old school military camouflage patterns (NOT the canadian disruptive camo though). It's a bit too dark for dry/sandy areas.
Works great for both paintball and airsoft (if you like full face protection... a barrage of .2g BBs flying at you at your face at 350 fps at short distances can do some damage, so if you ask me, i'd recommend full face).
I will agree to claims that it's a little hard to take apart at first, but once you get the hang of it you can take it apart, clean it thoroughly and have it back together in under 5 minutes.
Having said that, i will say this if you are looking to buy this for paintball: do not buy this if you wear really wide glasses (upwards of 140mm at the widest of the frame of your eyeglasses), the lens base isn't very wide. It's good for medium to small glasses (widest lens it'll fit is about 140mm wide, so go for that or less). To claims that it's no good for people that wear glasses, it's not entirely true, but do measure your frame to know for sure.
NEVER wear contact lenses underneath your mask in a paintball game, if paint sprays into your eyes through the holes, you're in for a nasty surprise.
It's okay February 7, 2008 KSGadgetFreak (Overland Park, KS.) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This mask does not fit well over glasses and is not as cool looking as others (for example, the VForce Profiler). Lens is very hard to remove considering the ease with which you can remove the lens for other goggles. However these goggles cost about half as much as those other goggles. It provides good protection, but had a rather uncomfortable fit for me--very tight below my eyes. Also be careful that you don't get water in between the two lens layers when you are cleaning--you'll have a hard time getting it out. The inner layer on the lens isn't a full thickness polycarbonate layer, rather it is a very thin piece of plastic. However it did seem to prevent fog well.
Great Mask August 24, 2007 Joshua Adams 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Doesn't fog, good field of vision, great venting, camo pattern blends in well with a variety of environments and is comfortable and light
