Product Description
Description The Response Trigger System is the ultimate big game fire power. The Response Trigger System increases your trigger speed by resetting the trigger and sear with excess gas during firing. This gas is used to operate a cylinder behind the trigger to do the resetting. The pressure of your finger on the trigger pulls it back to fire the next shot. The speed is determined by the amount of flow through the knurled adjuster on the side. The upper limit on the rate of fire is set by this adjuster. This auction is for one response trigger system for a Tippmann 98 marker.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet spot is nice   July 21, 2010

I've played about 5 games after installing this, you'll be able to shoot a lot more paint. Haven't had any chopped balls after install. You'll use more co2 up, and you'll make more noise. Install is actually quite easy, but the directions make it quite difficult if you try and go step for step.

Alright. Got this thing in the mail pretty quickly. The install is relatively simple. I spent a good amount of time trying to tune this thing to make it work. I couldn't do a thing with it. Just fired single shots. Called tippmann tech caus those guys will help in any way possible, and I got great customer service as I always do when I call them. They said it could be a torn o-ring somewhere in the system, which was my best guess. I replaced them all, to no avail. It turned out to be the flow control adapter. It was screwed in too tightly from the factory, and I was actually moving the entire adapter, and not the flow control adjuster. After I worked on it for a bit with some WD40, I got it loose. I called Tippmann back to let them know, and they apologized and offered to send me replacement parts. I thanked them, but declined because the system was working now.

At first, I could only fire in bursts, which was cool. I wanted full auto though. Found the sweetspot for a couple 8 or 9 ball bursts, but that was the max. I had ordered some other parts as well though. One thing I ordered was the TechT Hair pin trigger kit.TechT Tippmann Hair Pin Trigger Kit

I hadn't heard anything online about using this with a response trigger, but I thought about it for awhile, and it made sense to me that this thing would work well. It reduces the length you have to pull the trigger back, and the amount it will go forward after firing. This thing practically double or triples the sweetspot for my resposne trigger. After installing it, I INSTANTLY shot in full auto. I can make it go up to the maximum BPS on the flow control, and it still is easy to use. If you get a response trigger, get the tech t pins as well. I use the first pin for the trigger, and the third pin for the sear. Good luck!

Oh and on my gun, I have the cyclone too so that it will keep up with the response trigger. You just need to get the adapter kit to use both.

So overall, easy install, great product, much better with the TechT pins though. I highly recommend getting them if you want to be the most feared player out on the field of battle.

Put it in my 98 and it made my gun shoot fast now I can get the other guy out with no problem. Can shoot up to 15 balls per second. Can shoot as low as 0 per second. I had a guy at my local hobby store install it in my gun and it works great. Easy to ajust without having to struggle with a screw driver like those old E-Triggers. And guys, no batters. Its awesome!!!

4 out of 5 stars semi-easy install, good performance, you're gonna need a bigger tank and more paint!   December 20, 2009

I spent a while frustratedly trying to install this until I realized I was reading the instructions for the model without the anti-chop technology. If you have the ACT you don't need to replace the power tube, it's already replaced.
I had some issues with leaks at first but I got it to work. I added this in combination with the cyclone feeder and it works like a champ. Consider two things though:
1. If you hold the trigger and shoot a lot of paint fast, the CO2 gets cold and the gas can't expand fast enough to keep up. Your gun will get sluggish and die, then take a few seconds before it can fire again. I guess this can be resolved with a remote line and/or expansion chamber, OR using $$compressed air tank$$ instead. I just try to pulse burst my trigger pulls.
2. You will blow through a hell of a lot more paint and CO2. It may be wise to make sure you have refill tubes with you on the field. Make sure you have a bigger CO2 tank.
